Poindexter Qualifies for IC4As 100m Finals

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Looking to qualify for the 100 meter finals, senior Jordin Poindexter accomplished the feat with his finish in the trials Saturday at the IC4A Championship hosted by William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia.
 
The Richmond, Virginia, native finished seventh in the preliminaries with a time of 10.56 seconds to advance to the finals as only the top eight finishers make the cut.
 
He will compete in the 100 meter final at 12:15 p.m. Sunday.
 
Currently at No. 50 on the TFFRS list with a season-best time of 10.27 seconds, Poindexter also looks to earn a qualifying time for the NCAA East Regional May 26-28 in Bloomington, Indiana. The top 48 athletes on the TFRRS list make the cut to compete at the regional event.
 
Freshman Richard Edwards will compete in the 400 meter at 11:45 a.m. Sunday, while fellow freshman Jeremiah Wilks will compete alongside Poindexter in the 200 meter Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
