Yvonnia Perrello and Julie Freitas competed in the long jump and sophomore Suzanna Stoneburner competed in the pole vault for the Keydets.

VMI Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Zack Scott:
"We trained a small group of ladies during spring furlough and took them to compete at the Fred Hardy Invitational at the University of Richmond today to start off our outdoor season. Sophomore Alexis Rocker had a breakthrough performance with a four-meter improvement to her personal best in the hammer throw at 43.96 meters. The ladies all had some great training this week and this shows us the extra work paid off."
