VMI Football Adds Nine on February National Signing Day
 
LEXINGTON, Va. – Virginia Military Institute head coach Scott Wachenheim today announced nine signees to the 2020 recruiting class on the first day of the February signing period. The addition brings the total number of signees in the 2020 class to 20 after 11 inked with the Keydets in December.
 
"I am extremely pleased to add nine new signees today to our 2020 VMI Football recruiting class," said Wachenheim. "The length and athleticism of the twenty student-athletes we signed thus far will immediately impact our ability to compete in the Southern Conference. Additionally, many of these young men come from highly successful high school programs, including two state champions, thus bringing a champion's mentality with them to Lexington."

2019 All-Metro at defensive line…served as captain…received team's Iron Hawk Award…a four-year three-sport athlete and also captained the basketball team at center and competed in the disc, shot, and hurdles in track…NHS and all-academic in all three sports.

Earned second-team all-conference and all-district honors … competed in the Virginia State Coaches Association All-Star game … also played lacrosse in high school…father is a 1984 VMI graduate.

The Virginia 3A State Defensive Player of the Year … a second Team All-USA VA DB/LB as a junior …compiled 80 solo tackles, 38 assists, 19 TFL, 5 sacks, and 3 interceptions in 2018…also played quarterback… was responsible for five TDs in just two and a half games on offense and 30 tackles and three INTs on defense before injury shortened his senior season…honor roll student.
