Keydet Swimming Splits at Mount St. Mary's
EMMITSBURG, Md. – The VMI men's and women's swimming and diving teams split a meet at Mount St. Mary's University Saturday, with the men winning and the women falling to the Mountaineers. No team scores were available at press time.
Sophomore
Zach Emerson and freshman
Connor Doyle each won two events on the day. Emerson captured the 50 free (24.63) and 50 back (27.15) while Doyle won the 200 (2:00.03) and 400 (4:20.90) freestyle.
Ryan Schmitz won the 100 free in 54.46 and was second in the 500 free (24.81).
Conner Jorgensen finished first in the 800 free in 9:03.95 and second in the 400 free in 4:20.99.
Jack Sheehan won the 100 IM in 1:00.20 and was second in the 50 breast and
Bridger Thurston won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 209.92.
Sophomore
Sophie Svoboda captured the women's 100 IM in 1:08.55 and was second in the 50 breast in 36.75.
London Yerasimides won the 1-meter diving event with a score of 164.55 and Isabella DeCosta placed second in the 50 back (34.90).
The Keydets are back in action Feb. 13-16 at the America East Championships, hosted by the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, Mass.
