Keydet Swim & Dive Teams Travel to UMBC

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (UMBC) Saturday for a meet at 1 p.m.

The College of William & Mary defeated both VMI teams Saturday in Clark King Pool. The VMI men had six event winners, including freshman Jack Sheehan with victories in the men's 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Senior Jacob Smilie won the 100-backstroke, freshman Kai Green placed first in the 50-free and freshman Bridger Thurston won both diving events.

Sophomore Sophie Svoboda earned a victory in the women's 100 breaststroke and senior Calle Biles won both the 1 meter (178.95) and 3 meter (183.25) diving competitions.

UMBC bested VMI last season in the men's (157-121) and women's competitions (118-81).
