LEXINGTON, Va. - Julia Logan continued her strong indoor season, while Christina Hill set a new school record and Lee Warren equaled a lifetime best to lead VMI track and field efforts on the opening day of the VMI Winter Relays, contested Friday at the Corps Physical Training Facility (CPTF) on VMI Post.

Logan prevailed in the pentathlon, the first multi event ever contested at the CPTF, and did so with 3,180 points. She had the top marks in both the long jump and the high jump, where she equaled her school and facility record at 1.70 meters (5'7") before losing the facility record 90 minutes later in the open high jump.

Hill, meanwhile, set a new school record in the 500-meters with a 1:17.88 time that was nearly sixth-tenths of a second better than the old mark. Warren capped off VMI's top results of the day by finishing fourth in the semis of the 60-meter hurdles, and equaling his lifetime best with a time of 8.18 seconds. Kerisha Goode also moved on to Saturday's finals with a 7.72, sixth-place effort in the women's 60.

"Julia Logan has had an outstanding indoor season," said VMI head coach Darrin Webb. "It was exciting to see her win the first multi ever run at this facility, and Christina Hill did a great job as well. We look forward to another day of great competition tomorrow."

The VMI Winter Relays resume Saturday at 10 a.m., while a brief senior recognition ceremony will be held at 9:40 a.m.
