JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Ariana Ruffin finished second in the women's 400, while Lee Warren and Bethany King also posted podium finishes on the final day of the ETSU Invitational, contested Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn.

Ruffin wrapped up her collegiate debut with a 58.58 400 effort, good enough for a runner-up finish and the second-fastest time in schoool history in the event. Warren was third in the men's 60-meter hurdles at 8.35, while King finished third in the women's mile at 5:11.31.

One day after finishing ninth in the 60, Kerisha Goode was fifth in the 200 in 25.30. The women's shot put was also kind to the Keydets, as Tiffany Quick (12.39 M/40'7 3/4") and Sarah Leckman (12.38 M/40'7 1/2") finished fifth and sixth respectively. The men's DMR also earned a sixth-place result as Kyle Sabourin, Desmond Weinberg-Jones, Jackson Betts and Micah Ellington recorded a 10:52.25 effort.

Finally, Bria Anderson was eighth in the women's long jump (5.46 M/17'11") and the men's 4X4 - Kevin Bishop, Andrew Gould, Weinberg-Jones and Kofie-Safie Boateng - was eighth in 3:26.35.

"We had a strong first meet of the year," said VMI head coach Darrin Webb. "Ariana Ruffin had a great start to her collegiate career, and Bethany King and Lee Warren had great events as well. We look forward to hosting our first home meet of the year beginning Friday."

VMI track and field will return to action Friday, when the Keydets open their first home meet of the season at the Corps Physical Training Facility. The Keydet Invitational is currently scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
