VMI track and field will return to action Friday, when the Keydets begin action at the YSU National Invitational in Youngstown, Ohio. Action gets underway at 3:30 p.m. Friday, and then resumes at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Last Time Out
The VMI Keydet track and field teams put three throwers in the top six places in the men's shot put, and all told, had five IC4A qualifying efforts on the final day of the Camel City Invitational, contested Saturday, Jan. 30 at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
History at Youngstown State
The Keydets have competed at YSU frequently over the last several years, including at this very meet last season. Avery Martin was one of VMI's big winners last season, as he set a meet record in the 800 and posted IC4A qualifying times in three events.
Events to Watch
Men's Heptathlon - 4 p.m. Friday
The heptathlon begins at 4 p.m. Friday and will see five Keydets entered in the multi event. Killian Carey, who was seventh in the SoCon decathlon last season, is among them, while freshmen Brian Donna and Levi Whitt make their multi event debuts.
Women's 1,000-meters - 6:15 p.m. Friday
Kennedy Flynn headlines VMI's entries in this event. Flynn, running on her birthday, posted the third-fastest 1K time in school history at this meet last season.
Men's 1,000-meters - 6:25 p.m. Friday
The trio of Keydets in this event is headlined by Martin, who had an IC4A qualifying time in the event on this track last season.
Next Time Out
Following this two-day meet, the Keydets return to action on Feb. 11, taking part in the High Point Team Challenge at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
