VMI track and field returns to action Saturday, as the Keydets travel to Fairfax, Va. to take part in the one-day George Mason Spring Invitational. Action gets underway at 10 a.m.
How to Follow
Fans can follow along with the action via live results, provided by Scullion's Timing.
Last Time Out
Renee Reives qualified for the ECAC Championships in both the shot and the discus, while Mary Grace Lemon advanced to that meet in the hammer throw and Davon Guerrier punched his IC4A ticket in the 110-meter hurdles as the Keydets competed at High Point last weekend.
Events to Watch
Men's Pole Vault - 10 a.m.
Grant Holmes, who did not compete last weekend at High Point, will look to move up on the conference performance list. Holmes currently sits ninth, just under seven inches behind the eighth-place jumper and a logjam that is in front of that individual.
Men's 110-Meter Hurdles - 1:35 p.m.
Quincy Murphy will look to join freshman Davon Guerrier as an IC4A qualifier as the two go head to head in the 110 hurdles. Lee Warren is also entered in the event.
Women's Discus Throw - 4:45 p.m.
A newly resealed hammer and discus throwing circle will host the 32 throwers scheduled to compete in the women's discus. Renee Reives leads a trio of Keydets in the event including Elizabeth Johnston and Logan Edwards. Reives qualified for the ECAC Championships in this event last weekend at High Point, while Johnston set a new personal best two weekends ago at Richmond.
Next Time
The Keydets are next in action at the UNC Charlotte Invite April 17 and 18.
