Women's S&D In Action at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - Justina Dunne had a third-place finish in the 100 back, as the VMI women's swimming and diving team took part in a quad meet Saturday afternoon at Davidson College in Davidson, N.C.

VMI (2-3-1) defeated Clemson, who took part only in diving, 144-32, but fell 201-55 to Davidson and 179-68 to UNC Asheville. With the victory, however, the Keydets have won two dual meets for the second consecutive year, and now have the remainder of the season to get the first three-win season in team history.

Dunne's third place finish in the 100 back, when she was clocked in at 1:03.62, was VMI's highest of the day before multiple swimmers were exhibitioned in the final handful of events. During those races, the Keydets were credited with a second-place result in the 400 free relay (3:56.80) that saw Dunne, Mackenzie Perkins, Cecilya Lundy and Elizabeth Johnson team up, as well as a third-place result by Gabby Galvez in the 100 fly (1:04.76).

VMI women's swimming and diving will return to action Friday, Nov. 8, taking on North Carolina A&T in a dual meet in Greensboro, N.C. Action gets underway at 8 p.m.
