Dunne and Magill Pace Women's S&D at Davidson

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The VMI women's swimming and diving team set two school records, both of which included Justina Dunne, but the Keydets fell in dual meet action to CCSA opponent Davidson, 150-71, in swimming action Saturday in Davidson, N.C.

Dunne got things underway quickly, teaming with Katheryne Austin, Emy Farsakian and Amanda Berrios to record a record-breaking 2:01.47 time in the 200 medley relay. That was good enough for fourth place, and Dunne came back later in the evening to not only finish fourth in the 100 back (1:03.18), but also to set a new VMI (0-8) record in the 200 IM (2:23.86).

Heather Magill was also in action Saturday, and captured the victory in the 1-meter diving event, scoring 234 points. The sophomore then finished second in the 3-meter event later on, a competition that saw Magill edged out by less than four points.

The Keydets also saw Mackenzie Perkins finish fourth in the 50 free (26.91) and Austin finish fourth in the 100 breast (1:19.05).

VMI women's swimming and diving will return to action on Dec. 1, taking on Howard in Washington, D.C. Meet time is scheduled for 1 p.m.
