Getting to Know: Cross Country's Lindsey Carty

Major: Psychology

When did you start in Cross Country/Distance Running (what age) and why: When I was little, maybe around eight.  I ran little road races because I thought they were fun.

Why VMI: Coming out of VMI sets you apart from the rest of the crowd.

Favorite VMI memory: Ring Figure is definitely my favorite VMI memory.  It was a great experience and so much fun to hang out with my classmates.

Least favorite VMI memory: Least favorite would definitely be slamming my thumb in the car door during Parents Weekend of my rat year.  It was stuck in there and I had to yank it out of the door.  Eventually my thumb nail fell off and it still hurts to this day.

Goals for this season: For the team to place in the top four at conference.

Favorite movie/book and why: Wedding Crashers is my all time favorite funny movie, but Crash is my favorite drama I guess you could call it.  I just read The Great Gatsby (for the first time!) and I loved it.  I finished it in two days during cadre week.  I also like all of the Emily Giffin books.

When you have an hour of free time, you like to...: Go online shopping or look at Pinterest, nothing very exciting

What sporting venue would you most like to visit? I'd like to go to Giants Stadium or FedEx field.  I'm from Virginia and I've never been to a Redskins game.  I also really want to go to Wimbledon!

When surfing the Internet, what web site do you visit most frequently? Pinterest, Facebook, or random blogs

Favorite sport to watch (other than T&F): Tennis!

If someone would look at the songs I have, on my IPOD or computer, I'd be embarrassed for them to see I have this song:
All of the Spice Girls songs.

If you could eat dinner with three other people, living or not, who would they be and why?

I would eat with Grace Kelly to learn her style, grace, and poise. Then I'd eat with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge because who doesnt love Kate!  And finally Victor Cruz from the New York Giants because he came from so little and overcame a lot.
