Women's S&D Competes at Virginia Tech

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – Coming off the team's season opener Friday, VMI women's swimming and diving competed in a quad meet Saturday in Christiansburg, Va. The Keydets (0-5) fell in each of the three sections of the quad, losing to Liberty (280-20), Gardner-Webb (267-29) and host Virginia Tech (285-17).

One night after setting a new school record in the 100-yard backstroke, Justina Dunne was in the pool once again. Dunne swam the opening leg of the seventh-place 400 medley relay, clocking in at 1:03.18 on the backstroke leg. She would also finish 12th in the 50 back (30.01) and 11th in the 100 IM (1:06.72).

Mackenzie Perkins also saw action in several events, finishing 13th in both the 50 (26.97) and 100 free (59.82) in her individual action.

VMI women's swimming and diving is back in action next Saturday, Oct. 27, taking on Mount St. Mary's and McDaniel in a tri-meet hosted by the Mount in Emmitsburg, Md. Action will get underway at 1 p.m.
