Women's S&D Sets Three Records on Day Two of CCSA's

Keydet Women Fall to Davidson, 109-47

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The VMI women's swimming and diving team picked up two event wins, but dropped Friday's dual meet to the Davidson Wildcats, 109-47.

With the loss, the Keydets drop to 1-13 on the season, while the Wildcats improve to 9-6.

VMI's Flora Edelbrock was VMI's lone individual winner, as she picked up the victory in the 200-yard breaststroke. The other Keydet win came in the 200-yard freestyle relay, when the Davidson team was disqualified and VMI posted a 1:55.21 clocking.

In the 200 breast, Edelbrock clocked in at 2:51.41 and then returned to finish sixth in the 100-yard freestyle, one spot behind sprinter Meghan Doss. Doss clocked in at 1:02.50 in that event, and was sixth in the 50 free as well (28.26), one spot behind the highest finishing Keydet, Mia Cunicelli.

Briana Allard also continued her solid season on Friday with a pair of third-place finishes. After entering ranked 12th in the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association in the one-meter dive, she notched 190.43 points for a third-place finish, and then returned in the three-meter to score 191.25 and again, place third.

VMI will return to action, and conclude its regular season, on Saturday as the Keydets travel to Misenheimer, N.C. to take on Pfeiffer. The meet's opening event is set for a 2 p.m. start.
