The Keydets (6-6, 3-3) look to clinch their first postseason berth in four years since their final season in the Southern Conference in 2022. With a win Saturday, the Keydets are guaranteed the final No. 4 seed in the tourney and can even slide up to the No. 3 spot if Cleveland State defeats LIU this weekend. VMI can still make the tournament with a loss but would require that Cleveland State, Mercyhurst and Robert Morris all win Saturday.

About the Titans (3-9, 2-4)
Both the Keydets and Titans enter this weekend with confidence as both are coming off two consecutive wins and are fully aware of what's at stake this weekend. Detroit enters this weekend with only three wins on the season but played a difficult non-conference with losses coming to the likes of #10 Ohio State, #18 Michigan, Bellarmine, Marquette and Jacksonville.

Detroit got off to a slow start in conference play with an 0-4 mark as the Titans fell to Robert Morris, Wagner, LIU and Le Moyne, the latter three losses by two or fewer goals. In recent weeks, the Titans defeated Cleveland State by a 10-8 count and then took down Mercyhurst this past weekend by an 11-6 score on the road.

Marcus Thundercloud leads the team in points with 25 for the season (12 goals, 13 assists) while Andrew Parker is right behind with 24 points on 17 goals and seven assists. PJ O'Hanlon is tied for the team lead in goals with Parker with 17 for the year. Another significant offensive contributor is Dylan Belliveau, who has logged nine goals to go with nine assists for a combined 18 points.

In the cage, goalie Cooper St. Clair has played all 720 minutes for the season and owns a 11.33 goals-against average to go with 168 saves (.553).

All-Time Series (3-6)
Despite trailing by a 3-6 margin in the all-time series, the Keydets have won two of the past three outings – including consecutive wins in 2023 and 2024 – but fell in overtime last season as the Titans rallied from five goals down in the fourth period to earn the come-from-behind victory in Lexington.  Detroit won the first two games in the all-time series in 2008 and 2011 before VMI grabbed its first win over the Titans in 2012. The schools took a hiatus in competition against each other from 2015-21.
