MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Members of the VMI Rifle Team competed in an NCAA Qualifier hosted by West Virginia on Saturday, with
Alexander Pohlman shooting a program-best 587 in the smallbore to place third in the event.
Overall, Pohlman placed ninth, with an aggregate of 1173 including 72 centers on the day. Wuyue Zie placed 10
th in the smallbore, firing a 572 with 19 centers, while SoCon Freshman of the Year
Soraya Sar was 11
th, totaling 568 and 23 centers. Sar's 1147 aggregate (579 air rifle) was second best for VMI, while Zie was just a point behind, totaling 1146.
In the air rifle,
Kyle Kemp shot a 577, while
Cody Jenkins had a 575.
Lt. Col. Bill Bither and the program will await to see who will compete in the NCAA Tournament.
