LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Athletics is set for another busy week of competition as the Keydets close out October and welcome November. The schedule features Southern Conference soccer action, the cross country conference championships, rifle competition and the highly anticipated wrestling season opener against Michigan.

Women's Soccer

VMI women's soccer wraps up its regular-season schedule with a pair of Southern Conference matchups this week. The Keydets travel to Spartanburg, South Carolina, Thursday to face Wofford at 6 p.m. before returning to Patchin Field Sunday to host Samford at 2 p.m. Sunday's contest will also serve as Senior Day as VMI honors its graduating cadet-athletes.

Men's Soccer

VMI men's soccer hits the road Friday for its regular-season finale against Liberty. The Keydets enter the matchup following an impressive 4-2 victory over Mercer Saturday, marking their first Southern Conference win of the season. VMI will look to carry that momentum into its final regular-season contest before postseason play.

Cross Country

The VMI men's and women's cross country teams head to Mill Spring, North Carolina, Saturday for the Southern Conference Cross Country Championships. Hosted at the Tryon International Equestrian Center, competition is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. as the Keydets look to turn in strong performances against the conference's best.

Rifle

The VMI men's and women's rifle teams return to competition Saturday morning, traveling to Columbus, Ohio, to face Ohio State. Competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. as the Keydets look to continue building momentum after a strong start to the fall season, including wins over The Citadel this past Sunday.

Wrestling

The VMI wrestling team officially opens its 2026-27 season Sunday afternoon, welcoming Big Ten opponent Michigan to Lexington. The highly anticipated matchup is scheduled for 2 p.m. and marks the beginning of a new campaign for the Keydets following last week's annual Wrestling in Barracks event.
