LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Athletics is set for an exciting week of competition as the Institute welcomes families back to Post for Family Weekend. The schedule features several home events, highlighted by Wrestling in Barracks, Southern Conference soccer action, rifle competition and a home football matchup.

Wrestling

The VMI wrestling team will host its annual Wrestling in Barracks event Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. The intrasquad scrimmage is free and open to the public, giving fans an early look at the Keydets ahead of their November 1 season opener against Michigan. The team will also hold an open practice Saturday morning at 9 a.m. on the VMI Parade Ground as part of Family Weekend festivities.

Men's Soccer

VMI men's soccer returns to Patchin Field Saturday afternoon to host Southern Conference opponent Mercer at 1 p.m. 

Rifle

The VMI rifle teams return to competition Sunday morning, welcoming Southern Conference rival The Citadel to Kilbourne Hall. Competition is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m.

Men's Lacrosse

The VMI men's lacrosse team will also be in action Sunday, hosting a fall scrimmage on North Drill Field #2. The exhibition provides an opportunity for the Keydets to continue preparations for the upcoming spring season.

Football and Family Weekend

VMI football returns to Foster Stadium Saturday afternoon to host #18 ETSU in a Southern Conference matchup at 1:30 p.m. Fans can take advantage of a special 4 for $44 ticket deal, offering four tickets for just $44 for Saturday's matchup. It's a great opportunity to bring the whole family and cheer on the Keydets at Foster Stadium!
