Keydets top Highlanders in 1-0 thriller

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Men's Soccer put maximum effort in all 90 minutes to defeat Radford at Patchin Field on Wednesday afternoon.
 
The Keydets (2-5-3) played with extreme intensity throughout the match against the Highlanders (2-4-2), leading to a 1-0 home victory, the first against a D-I opponent this campaign. With the triumph, VMI has secured a result over the same D-I opponent in three-straight seasons for the first time since 2012-14.



 
Key Stats
- VMI tallied 11 shots with five on goal.
- Jesse Lee earned his first goal of the season, with Yeirin Mejia securing his second assist of the year.
- Zack Murphy was brilliant between the posts, nabbing five saves for his first clean sheet and second shared shutout.
- Gabriel N'Dakpri put up a game-high two shots on target.
- Head Coach Nick Regan records his 14th career victory, moving him into sole third all-time in VMI history.
