The showdown with the Blue Devils marks the first time the Keydets have faced a nationally ranked opponent, let alone a Top 10 team in the country. VMI last faced an ACC opponent in 2004 when the Keydets faced Virginia Tech in the program's second year of existence.

Leading the Keydets
VMI is led in scoring by freshman Taliyah Headman, who put in two goals against Longwood. Junior Samantha Uschold also has one goal for the year as she found the back of the net against the Lancers in the final minute.

Barrett Callejo leads the squad in shots with eight on the season, Headman is second with six and freshman Isabella Franco has tallied five thus far.

In the box, freshman Maren Ryberg has started all five games and has registered 37 saves and owns a .712 save percentage through five matches.

About the Blue Devils
Currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, Duke enters Thursday's game with a 4-0 record after earning wins over No. 11 Penn State in the season opener followed by victories over Northwestern, No. 8 Arkansas and Creighton.

Mia Minestrella and Avery Oder lead the team with three goals on the season while Kat Rader is close behind with two. Rader is the key distributor with four assists on the year with Minestrella, Devin Lynch and Mia Oliaro each accounting two helpers.

Goalie Caroline Dysart has played all but one half this season having started three of four matches while accruing seven saves and three shutouts for a 0.00 goals-against average. Difficult to penetrate the Blue Devil defense, opponents have taken just 26 shot attempts so far through four games.
