Women’s Soccer defeated by ETSU

LEXINGTON, Va. – Down by a 1-0 score after the opening half, the VMI women's soccer team continued to battle in the second half but ultimately fell by a 3-0 score on a rainy Sunday afternoon on Drill Field #2.

The Bucs scored the lone goal of the opening half in the 30th minute (29:14) when Jada Cooper received a pass from Ella Parker and beat VMI keeper Maren Ryberg to the ball to earn the game-winning goal.

Early in the second half, Cooper snuck behind the VMI backline and slotted a ball from Alex Beck into the lower left corner of the net for a 2-0 ETSU lead in the 58th minute (57:26).

ETSU's Reagan Fitzgerald would go on to score one final goal for the Bucs with 11 seconds remaining on the clock.

Ryberg finished the match with 10 saves for the Keydets in a complete game.
