Midgett highlights Day Two at Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – VMI senior jumper Keyandre Midgett highlighted the second day of competition for the VMI men's track and field team by setting a new personal best in the triple jump Saturday at the University of Virginia's Lannigan Field in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Portsmouth, Virginia, native won the triple jump with a career-best distance of 15.40 meters (50' 6"), which ranks as the fourth best triple jump in program history.


 
Fellow senior Jeremiah Wilks placed 64th overall in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.99 seconds.
 
Freshman Rye Jackson competed in the 400 meter dash and earned a time of 51.00 seconds for 66th place overall in the race.

The Keydets compete in the final regular season event of the 2025 outdoor campaign next weekend at the Catamount Classic hosted by Western Carolina Friday and Saturday, Apr. 25-26, in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
