Bradley, Clark earn Southern Conference postseason honors

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – After a great year on the hardwood, VMI junior Rickey Bradley, Jr. and sophomore guard AJ Clark were recognized by the league coaches for their talents as both received postseason honors announced Wednesday by the Southern Conference.

Bradley was named to the All-SoCon Third Team as a guard while Clark was named to the All-Defensive Team.

Bradley finished the regular season averaging 16.0 points per game – sixth best in the league – and logged 10 games in which he scored 20+ points. He earned a career-high 30 against Mercer on January 4 and twice tallied 29 points in games versus The Citadel (Jan. 18) and the season finale against Chattanooga.

One of the stealthiest guys in the conference, Bradley ranked third in minutes per game at 33.4 and showed his defensive prowess by finishing eighth in the league in steals at 1.4 per game. He also finished with 88 assists on the year and hit 50 three-pointers.

"I'm very proud of Rick for his dedication to our program and leadership throughout the season," said VMI head coach Andrew Wilson. "He is very deserving of this recognition from the league and has been a consistent force all season long.  He is as focused and determined of a young person as I've ever been around and the future is bright for him."

One of the top defensive threats in the league, AJ Clark ranked second in the SoCon in steals per game with nearly two (1.9) per contest. He put his leaping ability to use and averaged 0.9 blocks per game, which tied for fifth most per game in the league standings for the category.

"I'm very proud of AJ and pleased he was recognized for his efforts on the defensive end," Wilson said. "He was a major reason for our team's defensive improvement from last season and brought tremendous energy and tenacity every night for our team. AJ has battled injuries all season long which makes this accomplishment even more impressive."
