At 6-1, VMI enters the weekend with a lot of momentum coming off five straight wins and receiving Top 20 votes from Inside Lacrosse.

The Keydets' most recent win came last Saturday morning at Monmouth when VMI came back from down five goals entering the fourth period to scoring six goals over the final 15 minutes to complete the rally for a thrilling 11-10 victory over the Hawks on the road, VMI's first ever win against Monmouth after three previous tries.

The five consecutive wins ties the program record dating back to the 1990 season. The 6-1 start is also VMI's best start to a season in 33 years since opening with an 8-1 record back in 1992.

Through the first seven weeks of the season, VMI is the No. 1 scoring offense in the nation averaging 17.3 goals per game, almost 2.0 more goals per game than second-place Cornell at 15.8. Sophomore Dayton Bagwell ranked third in the nation in goals per game at 4.0 and senior Luke Rusterucci is close behind in fifth at 3.86 goals per game.

Senior goalkeeper Damian Levin ranks sixth in the NCAA at 14.29 saves per game and owns the 10th best goals-against average in the country at 8.12. The VMI defense is tied for eighth in the nation in scoring defense allowing just 7.86 goals per game.

The lot on the right nearest the large retaining wall/lacrosse field is the designated tailgating area for the visiting team. Cars must be parked in designated parking stalls – ticketing will be enforced by VMI Police.
