Lacrosse to host One Love Game Tuesday night

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI Lacrosse program will host its first ever One Love Game Tuesday night when the Keydets take on Hampton University at 6 p.m. at Drill Field #2.

The One Love Foundation is a national non-profit organization with the goal of ending relationship abuse. They work within communities of young people to empower them with the tools and resources they need to see the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships and bring life-saving prevention education to these communities.

One Love is founded in remembrance of Yeardley Love, a women's lacrosse player at the University of Virginia who tragically lost her life because of an abusive relationship.

The Institute will have pizza for the first 50 cadets to arrive and will be joined by the Cadet Counseling Center to provide give-aways during the game.

In addition to the game day promotion, the lacrosse team participated in a healthy relationship seminar last Thursday taught by members of VMI's SAAC program and the One Love organization.
