LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Baseball has unveiled its 2026 non-conference slate, featuring five home series and a total of 34 games.
The Keydets kick off the season on February 13 in a four-game series against Delaware State, marking the second consecutive season VMI hosts its season opener. This will be the first time since 1980-81 that the Keydets will host their season opener in back-to-back campaigns.
VMI will also host Maryland Eastern Shore (February 20-22) for a three-game set, followed by four more against Stonehill (February 27-March 1) and Western Illinois (March 6-8). The Keydets' final non-conference home series will be a two-day, three-game series against Cornell (March 14-15).
This season, VMI will have a split series weekend against Radford, with the Highlanders hosting two games (March 20 & 22) and the Keydets hosting the Saturday matchup (March 21). VMI's lone away series will be at the 2024 Big South Champion, High Point (April 24-26).
Midweek home contests will include George Washington (April 7), Longwood (April 28), and Norfolk State (May 12). The Keydets will be on the road for Virginia (February 17), Mount St. Mary's (March 3), Norfolk State (March 11 & April 14), George Washington (March 24), William & Mary (March 31), and Longwood (April 21).
The Southern Conference schedule will be released at a later date.
