Track and Field announces 2026 indoor slate

LEXINGTON, Va. – VMI Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Zack Scott announced Thursday his program's 2026 indoor track and field schedule.

The Corps Physical Training Facility (CPTF) will feature a newly resurfaced Mondo hydraulic banked track in time for competition in January, reinforcing the CPTF's reputation as one of the fastest competitive environments in the nation

VMI will hold an intrasquad meet on December 9 to give the athletes an opportunity to shake off the rust and post some early numbers before final exams and the holiday break.

The official season opener will be the VMI Team Challenge on Saturday, January 17. This will be the first chance for our cadet-athletes and visiting teams to experience the speed and quality of the new surface.

"We look forward to an exciting season ahead and to showcasing the hard work of our athletes on one of the premier indoor tracks in the country," Scott said.
