4x400 highlights second day of Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA – A first-place finish by the men's 4x400 team highlighted the second day of competition for VMI track and field at the Penn Relays contested Friday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

The foursome of Jeremiah Wilks, Nick Brown, Xander Topos and Richard Edwards won the eastern college race with a time of 3:16.84 to take the crown for the event Friday evening.

Senior Isaiah Blount also performed well with a third-place finish in the pole vault at 4.71 meters.

Other top performances
*The men's 4x100 team of Charles Male, Liam McBride, Keyandre Midgett and Jacob Garnett came in sixth place in 42.57 seconds
*In the men's 4x200, VMI's team consisting of Jeremiah Wilks, Jacob Garnett, Nick Brown and Richard Edwards placed 13th overall in 1:26.87
*McBride placed 34th overall in the 110m hurdles in 15.19 seconds
