Wrestling to host Bellarmine, LIU Tri-Match Friday

LEXINGTON, Va. – After a pair of SoCon matches on the road, the VMI wrestling team returns home to face LIU and SoCon foe Bellarmine Friday in a tri-match at Cormack Hall.

Facing a tough App State team this past Sunday, VMI (7-8, 1-3) picked up two wins on the day in the road loss to the Mountaineers.  At 174, Braxton Lewis earned a 13-0 major decision over App State's Logan Eller to put VMI on the board. In the final match of the day at 133, VMI's Dyson Dunham achieved a hard-fought 9-5 decision over Noah Luna to end the day on a high note and give VMI three more team points.
 
Bellarmine enters Friday with a 13-1 overall record and 3-1 mark in the Southern Conference, including wins over Presbyterian, Gardner-Webb and Davidson. The Knights are coming off a 27-3 loss this past Sunday at The Citadel.
 
A member of the EIWA Conference, LIU is 6-6 overall with a 2-3 league record.
