Wrestling announces 2026-27 schedule

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking to accomplish big things this season, the VMI Wrestling program has announced its 2026-27 campaign.
 
The season opener will take place at home on Sunday, November 1, with a monumental matchup against Big Ten power Michigan in a return match from last season. Less than a week later on November 7, the Keydets will head to East Lansing, Michigan, for the Michigan State Open.
 
On November 14, VMI will host a quad meet against Salem, LIU, and Presbyterian. The Keydets will then head to West Point on November 22 for the Black Knight Invite.
 
In December, VMI will compete in the Patriot Open on December 6 before traveling to Sacred Heart to take on the Pioneers and Bloomsburg University on December 19.
 
January is a packed month for VMI as the Keydets kick off the month on January 8 at home against Appalachian State followed by a tri-meet against Brown and Morgan State eight days later.
 
The Keydets will then travel to Benedictine Prep in Richmond to battle Ohio on January 22. Just two days after, VMI heads to Louisville, Kentucky, to grapple with Bellarmine. A week later, the Keydets travel to Campbell to finish up the month.
 
VMI starts February with a trip to Davidson, North Carolina to battle the Wildcats on February 5, followed by a date with Chattanooga in Tennessee a week later. The Keydets will host Gardner-Webb and Mercyhurst on February 14. VMI will conclude the regular season by hosting The Citadel on February 19.
 
The Southern Conference Championships will take place on March 5 and 6 in Asheville, North Carolina, before the NCAA Championships occur March 18-20 in St. Louis, Missouri.
