Biography

2024-25: Led the team with 25 victories, 13 dual wins, 12 tournament triumphs, six conference wins, nine technical falls, and 55 dual points at 184 pounds…named VaSID All-State....picked up three major decisions and two falls…was ranked in the top 30 in two media polls (WrestleStat & Intermat)…named SoCon Wrestler of the Week in the second week of the season…placed fourth in the SoCon Championships after going 2-2…won the 184 bracket at the Purple Raider Open…placed fourth in the 184 Open at the Southeast Open and fourth in the 184B bracket at the Journeymen Wrestling Collegiate Classic…scored a pair of nationally ranked wins in tournament play…picked up Power-Five victories over Duke and Virginia.

2023-24: Was a title winner at the Southeast Open after going a perfect 4-0…received national RPI rankings in February…claimed a 21-9 record with a team-high 15 dual wins and six conference victories between 174 and 184 pounds…also earned six tournament wins…earned a team-high 60 dual points.

2022-23: (Freshman)
  • Led the team in his rookie season with a 26-11 record at 165 pounds with five pins, two major decisions and two tech falls
  • Earned a spot on the SoCon All-Freshman Team
  • Placed third in the conference tournament after winning three-straight matches
  • Was named the team’ Most Outstanding Wrestler and co-Freshman of the Year
  • Took third in the Fr./So. section of the Southeast Open
  • Finished second in his pool at the Journeymen Classic on Nov. 13
  • Placed seventh at the loaded Soldier Salute Dec. 29-30
  • Won six of his last seven matches of the season

Before VMI: Lettered for four years, also served as a team captain … a 2019 state champion, the first state champion at the school for 17 years … state runner-up in 2020 and third place in 2021 … War on the Shore Champion … reached 100 wins by sophomore year … competed with Slaughterhouse Wrestling Club … gained the rank of captain in JROTC in two years … competed at the United World Wrestling Team trials in Las Vegas … uncle Kevin Lewis wrestled at the College of William & Mary.
