SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In conjunction with the Southern Conference, VMI Football announced its 2025 schedule on Thursday afternoon.
"We're really excited to announce our schedule for our upcoming 2025 season," said VMI Head Football Coach Danny Rocco. "Like last year, this is a 12-game schedule but this year we have five home games and seven road trips so we are going to have to do a good job with that road-warrior mentality."
The 2025 team will host five opponents in Lexington and play three of its four non-conference games on the road, starting with its season-opener at Navy on August 30th.
"Really excited about the opportunity to open the season at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis," Rocco said.
The home opener against Ferrum is followed by dates with Bucknell and Richmond before the bye week sets up SoCon play. It will be the second trip to Lewisburg in three years for the Keydets, and the first matchup with Richmond since 2015.
"With Ferrum being on the schedule, it's a slightly different look but I think it's good for us to have at home as we go to Bucknell and to Richmond to close out the non-conference schedule," said Rocco.
The Keydets host Chattanooga on October 4, visit ETSU October 11 and host Samford on the 18th before a road matchup at Mercer on October 25th.
The annual Military Classic of the South will take place in Charleston on November 1 before returning home to host Wofford (November 8) and visiting Furman on November 15.
The 2025 regular season will close at Foster Stadium against Western Carolina on November 22.
"Holistically, we are really excited about the upcoming season and look forward to beginning our preparation after the break," said Rocco.
