VMI runs strong at Panorama Farms Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The VMI men's cross country team represented the program well with several personal-best marks Saturday morning at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Results

The Keydets finished in 18th place overall with 520 points on a hilly and fast course at the Panorama Farms site. The Atlantic Coast Conference was well represented at the top with Wake Forest placing first with 38 points, host UVA in second with 47 and Virginia Tech coming in third with 62 points.

Sophomore Kevin Shank led the team in 91st place overall with a personal-best time of 25:05.1, topping his previous personal best by 11 seconds. Teammate Patrick Lowry finished second for the Keydets in 145th place overall in 25:56.2, just missing his PR by three seconds.

Senior Patrick Kiernan earned a PR time of 27:17.8 as the third Keydet finisher and was followed closely by freshman Jackson Geisendaffer in 27:20.9. Colin Crenshaw also earned team points by placing 181st overall in 27:23.7, a new PR by 18 seconds.

Michael Kelley came in 187th place overall in 28:14.8, a new personal best by 46 seconds.

Other VMI competitors on the men's side included Peter Fiorillo, Michael Jorgensen, Schuyler Nitzsche, Nicholas Ligday, Sullivan McGreevy, Matthew Sterbenz, James Gao and Ethan Sharkey.
