Rifle to host No. 19 North Georgia, Mount Aloysius Saturday

LEXINGTON, Va.  – The VMI Rifle program returns to action Saturday, as it has its home opener for the 2024-25 season, hosting No. 19 North Georgia and Mount Aloysius College.

Aiming High
VMI had a tough opener on September 21 when it visited host No. 8 Navy and defending national champion No. 4 TCU. The Keydets' mixed team posted a 4536 and the women's team a 4498 – a women's aggregate record at VMI. Individually, Christopher Hicks led all Keydet shooters with an aggregate of 1156 with. Ryan Harlow was just a shade behind him (1143). Darian Tweedell had the top score on the women's side, totaling the highest score in the air rifle (590) and ending with an aggregate of 1138.

Scouting #19 North Georgia
Like VMI, North Georgia has competed just once this year, falling to No. 3 Georgia Southern 4722-4614. Maya Cameron lead the way for the team, with an aggregate of 1161 while Bri Walter and Alison Sutherlin rounded out the top 10.

Scouting Mount Aloysius
Mount Aloysius has competed twice already this year, falling at No. 9 Ohio State and at No. 10 Akron, posting aggregates of 4468 and 4558 respectively. Kayla Trinkle was the top performer both days, with scores of 1150 and 1149.
