Women’s Track completes VMI Invitational with strong marks

LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI women's track and field team completed the 2024 VMI Invitational with excellent performances on the second day of competition Saturday at the Corps Physical Training Facility.

Sophomore Diamond Baker finished in seventh place in the shot put with a distance of 11.61m to set a new personal record for the event. Teammate Jenna Kirkland also competed and placed 10^th at 11.25m

Other Top Performances
*Sophomore SeMore Green arrived in ninth place in the 200 meter in 25.64 seconds, while fellow sophomore Heaven Hall placed 18th in 26.15 seconds
*Freshman Jillian Sisk achieved 12th place overall in the 3000m run in 10:22.42
*Julie Freitas competed well in the triple jump
