VMI Rifle falls narrowly at The Citadel

CHARLESTON S.C. – The VMI Rifle program visited The Citadel on Saturday, shooting its third-highest aggregate score of the season (4598) but narrowly fell to the Bulldogs by 13.

The women's squad, led by Victoria Phillips, would post an aggregate of 4432. Phillips placed seventh overall in the smallbore, firing a 566. Emma Cameron also had a strong showing in the smallbore with a 556 to finish 10th. 

Christopher Hicks and Ryan Harlow were the top individuals for VMI, finishing third and fourth overall with aggregate scores of 1160 and 1156, respectively. Hicks was tied for second in the smallbore with a 577 and finished third in the air rifle with a score of 585, while Harlow was just behind with a 583.

In the air rifle, Zachary Mauiello, Phillip Frey and Katelyn Grochalski placed six through eighth with scores of 580, 576 and 574.

What's Next
The Keydets have a little time off before traveling to Kentucky on February 10 to face Morehead State.
