LEXINGTON, Va. – The VMI baseball team will close out the 2023 regular season with a three-game non-conference series at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Thursday and Friday.

Morris Heating Up:
Zac Morris had a big series at the plate against ETSU, hitting .556 with a double and two home runs. Morris also drew two walks, stole three bases and had four RBI. He had a .667 on base percentage and a 1.333 slugging mark on the week.
About the Retrievers:
UMBC is 27-24 overall and 16-8 in the America East Conference and will be the #2 seed in the upcoming tournament. The Retrievers swept the University at Albany last weekend in a three-game AEC series but fell 9-8 vs. the University of Delaware.
Tony Krueger leads the team with a .360 batting average and 14 doubles. Leewood Molessa had a team-best 16 home runs and 62 RBI to go with a .611 slugging percentage. UMBC is 12-10 at home this season.
