Keydets Begin App State Open with Strong Marks

BOONE, N.C. – Several men's throwers began the App State Open with long distances Friday at Appalachian State's brand new Randy Marion Track and Field Facility in Boone, North Carolina.
 
Senior Andrew Granger placed second in the hammer throw with a distance of 55.59 meters followed by Herbert Brooks' third-place mark of 49.01 meters.
 
In the javelin throw, Robert Jones came in fifth overall at 34.05 meters and Sam Clendenin finished in sixth at 32.94 meters.
 
Up Next
Several Keydets will compete in both track and field events Saturday to conclude the second and final day of competition at the App State Open.
