KENT, OHIO – With the dual match outcome still in doubt, VMI senior
Tyler Mousaw pinned his opponent in the third period of the final match Friday as the Keydet wrestling team outlasted Kent State University 23-16.
Mousaw led 11-8 at 285 pounds with VMI clinging to a 17-16 lead in the non-conference dual before ending the bout with a pin at the 5:45 mark, taking advantage of an escape attempt from Josh Boggan.
Freshman
Patrick Jordon picked up six team points with a pin in just 26 seconds at 141 pounds. Sophomores
Ryan Vigil (8-0 at 149) and
Braxton Lewis (14-1 at 174) each had major decision victories.
