LEXINGTON, Va. - The VMI wrestling team will compete both Friday and Saturday in Ohio this weekend before nearly a 20-day layoff over finals week and the Christmas holiday.
The Keydets will face Kent State University Friday in a dual meet at 1 p.m. before traveling to the Cleveland State University Open on Saturday.
About VMI:
The Keydets have several wrestlers off to great starts in the 2023-24 season. Sophomore
Braxton Lewis has an 8-3 record overall with four pins and two technical falls. Freshman
Patrick Jordon has started his collegiate career with a team-high five pins and an 8-4 record.
Ryan Vigil has a 7-4 mark at 149 pounds with two pins and one major decision while
Dyson Dunham also has a 7-4 record at 133 pounds with one technical fall.
About Kent State:
The Flashes have faced a tough schedule to start off the year and are 0-5. Pablo Castro is 9-4 at 133 pounds while Billy Meiszner is 11-5 at 141. Both should have highly competitive matches with Dunham and Jordon, respectively.
