SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The VMI men's soccer team will play Furman University Friday at 4 p.m. in the first round of the 2023 Southern Conference Tournament in a game to be played at Wofford College. Furman is the tournament's third seed while VMI is sixth in the bracket, with the winner advancing to face no. 2 Wofford on Sunday at 2 p.m.   

The tournament opens with the quarterfinal round on Friday, Nov. 3, with the semifinal round set for Nov. 5, both hosted by top-seeded ETSU and No. 2 seed Wofford. The championship will be played at the highest remaining seed on Saturday, Nov. 11, or Sunday, Nov. 12. 

The tournament winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Soccer Championship.
