LEXINGTON, Va. – Fresh off its first ever top-20 ranking, the VMI Rifled Mixed and Women's teams will return to action at Kilbourne, hosting No. 9 Georgia Southern.
Last Time Out
It was a record-setting outing for the Keydets last Saturday, as the mixed squad posted a program record aggregate score of 4,579 and a smallbore record of 2,266 to take first place on the afternoon. The women's team had a strong outing as well, placing second by shooting a 4,441 aggregate.
Christopher Hicks leading all performers by posting an aggregate score of 1,153 with Ryan Harlow shooting a match-best 577 in the smallbore. Laini Morgan and Victoria Phillips led the way for the women, finishing 1-2 overall in the air rifle with scores of 587 and 585.
About the Opponent
Georgia Southern, who only has a women's team, is one of the top programs in the country, scoring victories over No. 17 North Georgia and No. 19 The Citadel. The Eagles' only loss this season was a narrow contest against second-ranked TCU. Addy Burrow leads the way for Georgia Southern, with her 1182.67 aggregate score ranking 15th in the nation.
