The Portsmouth, Virginia, native and defending SoCon Male Field Athlete of the Week registered a fourth-place distance of 14.86 meters (48'9") for the events, edging closer to the current NCAA-qualifying mark of 51'3". The top 16 triple jumpers nationwide earn an invite to the national event in March and have until March 6 to earn the qualifying distance.

Virginia Tech's Chauncey Chambers took first place at 16.14 meters.
