LEXINGTON, Va. - After over a month off, the VMI Rifle squad program opened its spring season against Morehead State on Saturday morning at Kilbourne Hall, as the mixed team posted an aggregate score of 4,553 to finish second behind the Eagles (4,658). The women's side totaled a 4,382, while the 4,553 for the mixed team is a season-high.
Christopher Hicks continued his strong junior season, finishing sixth individually with an aggregate of 1,150. Hicks fired a 566 (8th) in the smallbore and showed well with a 584 in the air rifle to place fifth in that respective event.
Maxine Gray-Barth matched Hicks' air rifle to tie Hicks for fifth, while
Ryan Harlow's 571 in smallbore garnered a T-4 finish.Â
The Keydets will waste no time getting back into action, visiting The Citadel next Saturday (January 28).Â
