Keydets Show Well at Paul Short Run

Complete Results

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Looking to improve upon personal best times and progress toward the championship segment of the season, the VMI women's cross country team had several runners earn strong finishes Friday afternoon at the Paul Short Run presented by ASICS in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Junior Naomi Hahn led the way in 187th place overall with a 6K time of 23:24.10 ahead of sophomore Gretal Shank, who placed 259th in 23:55.80. Nathalie Lavender finished third for VMI in 292nd place in 24:22.10, and senior Emily Wells came in 331st in 25:03.00. Alyssa Ingerson also scored team points for the Keydets in 371st place in 26:15.90.

Caroline Fiorillo and Alina LaForest also competed for VMI.

VMI Head Cross Country Coach Danielle Gray
"There were some bright spots with improvements in times throughout both the men's and the women's teams. However, there were also a few missed opportunities and some better racing tactics that could have been made during the race. I believe the team is continuing to learn each race and overall is trending in the right direction."

Up Next
The Keydets next compete in two weeks (Saturday, Oct. 15) at the ECU Pirate Invitational hosted by East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
