Lacrosse Faces Hampton for Senior Day SoCon Tilt

LEXINGTON, Va. – Looking to finish the 2022 home slate on a strong note, the VMI lacrosse team will take on Southern Conference foe Hampton University for a 12 p.m. faceoff Saturday on Drill Field No. 2.

Live Stats

The matchup is designated as Senior Day presented by First Command as seniors Josh Bass, Jack Burke, Trejan Cannon, David Foster, Aidan Riley, Alex Rodriguez, Michael Santos and Mike Tulskie will play for the final time of the VMI careers on North Post.

The game is a rematch as the two teams squared off earlier this season when VMI (3-9, 1-2) took a 15-6 win over the Pirates in Hampton back on February 21.  This weekend's matchup will count as a Southern Conference contest whereas the previous battle was designated as a non-conference affair.

Scout Ripley holds a slim lead as the team's points leader with 32 on the season (22 goals, 10 assists) and Hartley Jordan is close behind with 30 on 20 goals and 10 helpers. Freshman Luke Rusterucci stands in third place with 25 points on 11 goals and team-high 14 assists on the year.

Cannon continues to lead the squad in caused turnovers in 2022 with 17 on the season. Freshmen Alex Baber and James Boynewicz are close behind with 14 and 13, respectively, for the year.

Goalie Jack Liselli has played over 600 minutes this season with 132 saves and a .480 save percentage having faced 448 shot attempts.
