Keydets Fall in SoCon Battle at ETSU

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Hoping to snag a conference win on the road, the VMI women's soccer team fell by a 3-0 score to host ETSU Friday night at Summers-Taylor Stadium in Johnson City, Tennessee.
 
The Keydets (1-11-2, 0-4-0) hung tough with the Bucs (4-5-3, 2-2-1) in the first half and went into the break knotted up in a scoreless draw, but ETSU pulled away in the final 45 minutes to score three unanswered goals to earn the victory.
 
Game Summary
*After being shut out in the opening half, the Bucs' Lindsey Cook found Grace Eatz for the game-winning goal in the 52nd minute (51:40)
*Emma Arnold (65:13) and Taylor Limprevil (70:52) scored insurance goals for ETSU midway through the second half to extend the lead and put the game out of reach for VMI
*VMI midfielder Lauren Fyfe nearly scored for the Keydets, but ETSU keeper Ashton Blair recorded a save as Fyfe was credited with a shot on frame
