Keydets Perform Well at Pirate Invitational

GREENVILLE, N.C. – With the SoCon Championships two weeks away, the VMI cross country teams performed well at the ECU Pirate Invitational hosted by East Carolina University Friday afternoon at Lake Kristi in Greenville, North Carolina.
 
Sophomore Gretal Shank led the team to a ninth-place finish (252 points) by placing 41st overall in 24:27.89. Freshman Nathalie Lavender came in 53rd overall in 24:57.02 and senior Emily Wells arrived in 57th place in 25:28.81.
 
Caroline Fiorillo finished fourth on the squad by placing 70th overall in 27:10.09 and freshman Alina LaForest rounded up the team finish by arriving in 77th place in 29:18.44.
 
The Keydets will compete in the Southern Conference Championships slated for Sunday, October 30, at Johns Island hosted by The Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina.
