Keydets to Compete at ECU Pirate Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – Running their final tune-up before the SoCon Championships in two weeks, the VMI cross country teams will compete at the ECU Pirate Invitational at Lake Kristi Friday afternoon hosted by East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
 
The women will run a 6K race at 4 p.m. and the men will compete in the 8K course at 4:45 p.m.

"This is our final tune up race in our regular season, and the meet will provide us with a great opportunity to run well again.  The size and competition of the ECU Pirate Invitational will set up very similar to our conference meet, so in a sense this is a trial run for both teams to approach this meet as they would our Southern Conference Championships.  Overall, the effort and training each individual put in over the summer and the fall comes to fruition this time of the season in our team and individual results.   I am excited to see those who committed to the training and the process this season perform at their highest level in the coming weeks."
