The two teams met less than six month ago, with the Lancers earning a 3-1 win on Patchin Field on March 10. VMI's
Robert Castro scored on a cross from
Peter Sepulveda to tie the game 24 minutes in. Leif VanSlyke had two goals for Longwood while
Broden Schull made seven saves for VMI.
ETSU scored a goal with six minutes left to defeat Longwood 1-0 in the Lancers' season-opener Thursday. Longwood out-shot the Bucs 17-10.
George Washington defeated VMI 4-0 Thursday in Washington, D.C.
The Keydets have their first home game of the 2021 fall season this Saturday at 1 p.m. on Patchin Field against Presbyterian College.
